Resume Tune-Up Tips
Your RESUME/CV is a legal document (considered an “Application for Employment”), therefore we require all employment post high school be listed. Omitted information can be relevant to determining (or “measuring”) your job qualifications for employment .
The RESUME/CV must include the following information in the following ORDER : List all information with DATES (include month & year) in DESCENDING ORDER (most current on top). PLEASE REMOVE BOXES, LINES or BULLETS.
1st LICENSE(S) (Professional): List All LICENSES ever acquired including those in other states. Be sure to include the approximate MONTH and YEAR acquired and expiration date as well as the IDENTIFICATION NUMBER of each.
2nd CERTIFICATION(S): Note – CERTIFICATION is NOT “Certificate of Completion/DIPLOMA”. List All CERTIFICATIONS ever acquired. Be sure to include the approximate MONTH and YEAR acquired and expiration date as well as the IDENTIFICATION NUMBER of each. List all recently obtained CE / Continuing Educations Credits here as well if any.
3rd EDUCATION: Be sure to completely SPELL OUT the TITLE of the DEGREE or DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE of COMPLETION acquired and the NAME and ADDRESS of the school. List All SECONDARY EDUCATION/TRAINING COMPLETED and/or ATTENDED (Include MONTH & YEAR attended) and NOT COMPLETED list the number of credits obtained and MONTH & YEAR attended). Include tentative graduating dates if currently attending. High School need not be listed if you have completed secondary education.
4th INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP or CLINICAL ROTATIONS or PRECEPTORSHIPS:
NOTE: All the above are considered as REQUIRED TRAINING and NOT “WORK//EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE”.
* RECENT GRADUATES (those within one (1 ) year of graduation and DO NOT POSSESS WORK EXPERIENCE) are required to list :
A.) Each CLINICAL AFFILIATION (Include the Name and Address of each)
B.) TOTAL NUMBER of hours of the INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP and the TOTAL NUMBER of hours at each.
C.) INCLUDE a list of each SKILLS/TASKS PERFORMED and the TOTAL NUMBER PERFORMED .
D.) BRIEFLY describe the extent of your knowledge and application of each skill/task performed.
* EXAMPLE: Vitals (200), Phlebotomy (230 Peds)(560 Adult)(160-Geriatric), Data Entry (75 wpm), EKG’s, Electronic Medical records systems: MeDent EMR (2000 entries performed), AllScript EMR, Order Labs (3 per day), Prepare & File Charts (20 per day 2000 approx. total), Word Perfect, Excel Spread Sheet, Microsoft Word, Answer Phones (10 lines), Medical Transcription (115 WPM), Surgical Scheduling, Patient Scheduling, List equipment utilized (GE DR imaging equipment, Toshiba PACS system), ect.
5th WORK EXPERIENCE or WORK HISTORY or EMPLOYMENT: (A JOB for which you were HIRED and PAID COMPENSATION in exchange for work performed). * List All JOBS/ EMPLOYMENT including All SKILLS /TASKS performed at each. Include RESPONSIBILITIES and JOB TITLES. Include All JOBS/ EMPLOYMENT you have ever held SINCE HIGH SCHOOL. * DO NOT EXCLUDE any JOBS and include approximate MONTH and YEAR of employment (NOTE: We are UNABLE to CONFIRM PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT the MONTH and YEAR EMPLOYED) and ADDRESS of each.

6th VOLUNTEERISM: (Include all performed with dates)
7th REFERENCES (minimum of 3): Must be supervisor, administrator or instructor ONLY who have had over-site of your performance/work. Be sure to include the NAME, TITLE, PHONE NUMBER and the best TIME to CONTACT..
